Custom & Global Plant Species Management

Create and manage your own custom plant species alongside the standard global list. The Plant Species page provides full add/edit/delete capability for custom plant species and the built-in global species read-only list.

Custom Plant Species List

  1. Navigate to Setup > More > Plant Species
  2. On the Custom Species tab click the New Plant Species button
  3. Enter Common Name and Latin Name of the plant you'd like to add
  4. To generate, click Create Plant Species
    • Delete/Edit the custom plant species on this page
      ⚠️ You cannot delete a custom species that is assigned to an existing Job(s). You must delete this plant from the Job(s) before deleting. This will trigger an error message.

 

View Global Plant Species List

  1. Navigate to Setup > More > Plant Species
  2. Click on the Global Species tab
  3. View the read-only list
    • Adjust the 'Show x entries' to display 10, 25, 50, or 100 plants per page
    • Sort plants by COMMON NAME or LATIN NAME by clicking on header
    • Utilize the Search feature

💡If you can't find the plant you are looking for, create a plant using the Custom Plant Species section above.


 

Add a Plant to a Job

  1. Open the Job you'd like to add the plant to
  2. Click the Edit Job button
  3. On the Edit Job page, scroll and click the Go to Map button
  4. In the top right corner of the Map screen, click the Add Tree button
  5. Click the spot on the Map where this plant is located
  6. On the left, click on the Plant Species dropdown, search for the plant name, and select it
    • Optional: Fill out any other necessary information such as Pin Color, Location, Notes, DBH, and/or Health
  7. When finished, click Save at the bottom
  8. When you're finished adding all plants, click the Return to Job button in the top right corner. this plant has be successfully added to your Job!

Additional Notes

  • Custom species appear in all plant dropdowns alongside global species.
  • Each account's custom species are private, other accounts cannot see or use them.
  • Deleting a custom species that is assigned to existing plants is blocked with an error message.
