How to make your job and line item entries even more effective
'A picture is worth a thousand words... '
OK, OK... Bob may not have been the first to say this... but I bet there have been times when you (and Bob) wish you could show your crew what it is that needs to be done rather than having it type it out in the crew notes. Good news! There IS!!
You can add images (and other files) to your jobs at both the job level and the line item level. Here's a brief explanation how to use this functionality.
Before You Begin
- Ensure that Job Photos, Line Item Photos, and Map Markers are enabled in your document templates' Additional Info section for whichever template(s) to which you wish to photos (Admin >> Document Templates, then click Edit on the template to edit).
Adding a Photo at the Job Level
Photos can be added globally at the job level by clicking on the blue Attachmentsbutton (right side), then clicking View/Edit Photos. In the modal that appears, click the Click to Upload button, then path to the location on your computer/network where the photo(s) to be added reside. Add as many photos as you like, then click Close to return to the jobs page.
If you wish to remove job-level photos, click Attachments, then View/Edit Photos. In the modal that appears, mouse/hover over the photo to be removed and click on the trash can icon. You'll be asked to confirm that you wish to remove the photo. Click Yes, then Close when you have removed any/all photos to be deleted.
Adding a Photo at the Line Item Level
To add photos at the line item level, you must first be in the job entry/edit page. If you do not see the icons on the line item row, click the Edit button upper-right. To add the photo(s), click on the paper clip icon on the same row as the line item, just to the right of the line item description. The area beneath the line items will expand to show a Click to Upload button. Click the button and path to the location of the images you wish to add. The image(s) will be added in the area left of the Click to Upload button. Click the paper clip icon on the line item row again to close the image display area.
If you wish to remove line-item photos, click the paper clip icon to expand the image display area. Mouse/hover over the image you wish to remove, and click the trash can icon. You'll be asked to confirm that you wish to remove the photo. Click Yes, then click the paper clip icon when you have removed any/all photos to be deleted.
